Hello Readers, wherever you are. Thank you for still being loyal to our simple blog. I hope these notes can be useful for all of you.
Ok. This time, we will talk about Screen Recorders for Linux users, especially Fedora Linux, because I’m a Fedora user. At the time this post was made, I was using Fedora 41 with KDE Plasma as the desktop. So, after trying all the screen recorder apps, I finally decided to pick a few that are worth trying.
Here are the apps:
Sponsor
SimpleScreenRecorder
This app is very lightweight and super easy to use. For codecs, SimpleScreenRecorder supports many, so after recording, the output can be MP4 or MKV.
How to install:
sudo dnf install simplescreenrecorder
Kazam
If the previous one records in Full Screen, Kazam can record a specific area, a specific window, or All Screen if you have more than one display.
How to install:
sudo dnf install kazam
Peek
The advantage of Peek is that it can record the screen as a GIF, but it also supports MP4. The downside is that Peek can’t record a specific window—it only supports recording a selected area.
How to install:
sudo dnf install peek
VokoscreenNG
Out of all the screen recorder apps, VokoscreenNG is the most modern one with complete features. It supports Fullscreen Recording and Window Recording. I prefer this one because it also has a built-in converter from MKV to MP4, GIF, or WebM.
How to install:
flatpak install flathub org.vokoscreenNG.vokoscreenNG
Ok, Readers, that’s all for today. Hope it’s useful. I’m only sharing 4 apps because the others are too buggy and, in my opinion, not worth sharing with you. Hope you have a great day, and see you in the next post.
